Downy woodpecker
Dryobates pubescens 绒啄木鸟
The Downy Woodpecker is the smallest North American woodpecker, about 6 inches long, with black, white and red plumage, a white belly, black wings spotted with white, and males have a small red patch on the back of their head. It moves rapidly on tree trunks, feeds mainly on insects (also seeds and berries), and thrives in a variety of habitats from forests to urban backyards.
