Double-crested Cormorant

The Double‑crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) is a large waterbird about 36 inches long, with a stocky body, long neck, broad rounded wings, and a long wedge‑shaped tail. It is black or dark brown, develops a distinctive double crest of white or black feathers during breeding, and has bright blue eyes with orange‑yellow facial skin.
