American Black Duck

The American Black Duck is a large dabbling water bird about 20 inches long, with dark brown to black plumage, a lighter chest, yellow‑green bill, and a purple speculum on the wings during breeding. It inhabits wooded swamps and coastal marshes in eastern North America and is largely non‑migratory.
